Learn to Manage the Lows in Life...

Everyone gets sad, blue, or low from time to time.
Usually it lasts only for a short time. But sometimes these uncomfortable feelings persist and have an impact in many areas of life. Relationships, work, school and enjoyment of leisure activities can all suffer when you're depressed.

There are lots of reasons that a person can become depressed. Loss, disappointment, frustration, illness, change, or trauma are just a few of the immediate causes. No matter what the cause, depression is one of the most treatable of all mental health problems.

It's often hard to know when occasional down times become a persistent pattern of depression. You may want to seek professional help if you have any two of the following symptoms:
Frequent crying spells
Loss of appetite or noticeable increase
Inability to sleep or stay asleep, or excessive sleeping
Poor concentration
Feelings of hopelessness
Feelings of guilt
Persistent feelings of sadness
Frequent irritability
Loss of interest or enjoyment in normal activities
Decrease in sex drive
Thoughts of self harm

Remember! Depression is treatable.
