Helping You to Sort Out the Thoughts and Feelings...
One of the few guarantees in life is that each one of us will experience personal loss. Such loss includes the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a geographic move, or a physical disability. We recognize that this process will be different for each person, both in its duration and in the specific feelings experienced. However, there are commonalities in grieving which most people share. According to most experts in this area, each of us must complete four major tasks to work through a loss:
To accept the reality of the loss,
To experience the pain of grief,
To adjust to an environment in which the loss exists,
To withdraw emotional energy from the loss and reinvest it in life and/or another relationship.

While moving through these tasks, people have many grief reactions that are normal for the process. They have strong feelings, unusual or different physical sensations, difficulties with their thought processes and behavioral changes.
Sometimes people get detoured while moving through the grief process and need professional help to get going again. If you have experienced a loss recently or in the past and need some help in sorting out your thoughts and feelings, please call.
